And because I’ve historically been such a “teacher’s pet,” getting fired was deeply devastating in the moment. But in hindsight, totally worth it. Getting fired was actually the best thing to ever happen to me.
Cut to twelve years and hundreds of weddings later, my associate brand studio, Anna Delores Photography, is an authority in the fine art wedding industry in Santa Barbara and beyond. Our team has grown to include four photographers and five-figure bookings, but the most rewarding part is the hundreds of delighted couples who’ve shouted our name from the rooftops.
Little did I know that I’d be fired from that dead-end desk job later the same day for building my photography website on the clock (oops).
When I founded Anna Delores Photography in 2012, I was standing over a photocopier at my nine to five in a sad, grey cubicle, trying to devise an exit strategy.
