Lindsey and Zach. These two incredible humans have quite a story.
I’ve known Lindsey for years, as she is a fellow Santa Barbara wedding professional (she’s the founder of Magnolia Event Design). When she and Zach got engaged (he proposed in a hot air balloon over the Santa Ynez Valley!), I Heart Creative and I were there to capture it. A few months later, they told their closest friends and family to plan for a black-tie engagement party. They then surprised everyone by announcing they were actually there to celebrate their wedding!
Lindsey and Zach love to travel the world, and they started planning their big wedding for the following New Year’s Eve in Mexico. They were excited to share their love of Tequila town with their guests!
The couple welcomed beautiful baby Parker a few months before their Tequila wedding. Complications with Parker’s health ultimately meant that Lindsey and Zach postponed their plans by another year, opting for the following New Year’s Eve instead.
Needless to say, this wedding was a long time coming. Lindsey wore the same Pronovias gown she’d donned for their original vows in California two years earlier, but with a very special addition. Emily Plank hand painted blue flowers, butterflies, and a hummingbird to honor Parker on a stunning bow train attached to the back of Lindsey’s dress. Zach wore a black tuxedo with dark blue Gucci loafers and a midnight velvet bow tie. He also wore frog prince cufflinks, also in honor of sweet Parker.
The couple’s good friend Sophie officiated the emotional, heartfelt ceremony at Hacienda el Centenario, where guests also enjoyed a caballero show and mariachi music at cocktail hour. A three-course dinner was followed by hours of dancing, late-night churros, and fireworks at midnight to ring in the new year!
Here are some favorite Mexico destination wedding photos from Lindsey and Zach’s New Year’s Eve celebration.
