I met Hannah years ago and have continued to get to know her through her work as a lead planner with Santa Barbara-based KB Events. When she reached out after getting engaged to her longtime love, Justin, I was honored to be asked to photograph their Casa Calma wedding!

The couple chose the picturesque Casa Calma in Santa Barbara to host their wedding weekend. Nestled in the San Roque neighborhood, Casa Calma offers over two acres of tranquil, secluded space for gathering a small group of family and friends for an intimate celebration.

Hannah and Justin also gathered a dream team of wedding pros to help them execute their wedding weekend. The Bottega Bar offered a customized array of cocktails, curated especially for the happy couple. Tangled Lotus infused bright pops of sherbet-toned florals into the design of the ceremony and reception setups. Lucca Truck kept us all fed and happy with their incredibly delicious pizzas, and DJ Gavin Roy kept the dance floor packed until last call at the bar. And of COURSE, the KB Events planning team was on hand to ensure everything went smoothly (though owners Katie and Adam got to relax and enjoy some time as guests, too!).

Hannah designed most of the dreamy weekend herself, with most of her inspiration coming from the Josephine linens by BBJ La Tavola. The bride also made all the signage, hand-wrote personalized escort card notes for each guest, and designed the couple’s modern invitation suite.

All the details

Justin skipped a tie and donned a dark brown custom suit from Suit Supply (complete with the couple’s wedding date embroidered under the collar and a tiny pink “H” for his bride on the inside of his jacket!). Hannah’s off-shoulder gown was designed by Madi Lane, and Hannah complemented her ceremony look with a veil from Etsy, appliquéd with delicate flowers. Bridesmaids wore complementary, mismatched gowns in shades of sage green and soft yellow, while groomsmen kept cool during the summer heat in khaki suiting.

Both Justin and Hannah wanted great vibes and joyful energy for their wedding. They emphasized to their friends and family how special everyone was to them (and their intentional decision to keep the guest list intimate). As a wedding planner herself, Hannah knows how easy it can be to get stressed out or overly anxious about the little details, and she made the deliberate effort to really ENJOY the weekend! The love surrounding this special couple was palpable, and it was so wonderful to witness their adoration for each other and their loved ones.
