Bailey and Brendan’s Montecito Country Club wedding was my second-to-last wedding of the year, and MAN, was it a wonderful way to wrap up the season! Not only are B+B kind, welcoming, effusive, and fun, they also know how to throw a damn good party.
First of all, they were ahead of the trend curve with their seashell “save the date,” followed up with an elegant letterpress invitation suite to welcome their guests to their extended Montecito wedding weekend. The celebration began early, with a welcome party at SB Biergarten in the Funk Zone on Thursday, followed by their VIP rehearsal dinner at the Santa Barbara Carriage Museum on Friday evening.
It was such a memorable weekend for the bride, groom, and their incredible group of friends and family. It was hard to narrow down my favorites, but here we go!
Fashion + design
Bailey chose some seriously chic Prada kitten heels to pair with her Kelly Faetanini gown, and her bridesmaids stunned in mismatched dresses in the perfect shade of silvery sage green. Her groom, Brendan, also looked amazing in a classic black tuxedo with cuff links bearing the bride’s intials (the sweetest!).
The most timeless shades of pale blue and sage green reflected the natural palette of their chosen Montecito Country Club wedding venue. The Pacific Ocean served as a dramatic backdrop to their ceremony, framed with a white floral arch by Coco Rose Design. Guests sipped champagne upon arrival and enjoyed the late October warmth of coastal California as they made their way to the ceremony.
Cocktail hour followed the ceremony, and Bailey and Brendan’s friends and family enjoyed signature cocktails (Aperol spritz for her, old fashioned for him) and tray-passed appetizers. Once they transitioned to the reception inside the ballroom, guests were greeted by another nod to the seashell motif: hand-decoupaged place cards! Scalloped plates and striped menus rounded out the coastal theme.
The airy seaside vibe of both the ceremony and reception spaces was expertly executed by Emily of Coastal Rose Events. In lieu of table numbers, the couple opted for the names of famous ski resorts instead, and their adorable cake design also echoed this favorite pastime of theirs (the tiny skiers on the icing were so cute!).
Montecito Country Club wedding dance floor
Once dinner had wrapped, guests were invited to the rotunda to the witness the couple’s first dance (perfectly choreographed, of course!). Then, lights went down and the espresso martinis came out, along with custom-branded trucker hats bearing the couple’s now-shared last name: “Watts.”
On the Beat made sure the dance floor was packed until the very last song, when guests boarded shuttles to take them to Bailey and Brendan’s after party on State Street in Santa Barbara!
